The Red Bull team has announced a major reshuffle for the 2026 Formula 1 season, moving up Frenchman Isack Hadjar to its A-team and giving British teenager Arvid Lindblad his maiden Formula 1 seat. The young driver, who is of Swedish and Indian heritage, is set to become the partner of Kiwi driver Liam Lawson at the second team VCARB. This driver musical chairs means Japan's Yuki Tsunoda being without a drive after five seasons. Who is Arvid Lindblad? The British teen participated in first practice for the Silverstone and Mexican Grands Prix this year. The youngster was identified as a prodigy by Red Bull from the age of 12 years old. Talking about the team's young driver programme, a key advisor previously said that Lindblad "seems extremely gifted", highlighting his "pure speed". Red Bull has had a plan since last year to ready Lindblad for his potential F1 debut in 2026, including runs in Grand Prix practice at the British and Mexican races. Lindblad stated it was a "dream come true", adding: "Next season represents a massive test, and I know there's plenty to absorb, but I'm prepared to collaborate with the team and rise to it. I am incredibly excited to get started." Lindblad has taken two races in F2 so far this season and is sixth in the standings ahead of the final round in Abu Dhabi. A Major Opportunity for Hadjar Isack Hadjar celebrates his first podium in F1, achieved at the Dutch Grand Prix in August. The Frenchman's debut season started on a low note when he crashed during the warm-up lap of the season-opening Australian Grand Prix. But, since then, he has emerged as one of the stand-out rookies this season. He featured an excellent podium finish at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he sits in tenth place in the championship. A senior team figure said: "Hadjar has displayed impressive growth and proved to be a quick learner. Crucially, he has the innate pace that is the primary necessity in this sport. We believe he can succeed next to Max." The promoted driver called it "a fantastic step" and said he felt "up for the challenge". Tsunoda's Exit To partner Lindblad at the junior team, Red Bull have chosen Lawson over Tsunoda. The New Zealander began the season with the senior squad but was demoted after just two races. He has found his form at the junior outfit with notable results, persuading Red Bull he merits more time. Tsunoda, meanwhile, has been ejected after a disappointing season. His highest finish is a sixth place, and he has scored a small fraction of the team's constructors' championship. These announcements confirm that there remains no spot on the Red Bull academy for Irish driver Alex Dunne, who will remain in F2 next season.
